Forschung
The main topic of our group is the central carbon metabolism in bacteria and archaea. We are currently studying
(1) autotrophic carbon dioxide fixation pathway in the members of recently described archaea of the phylum Thaumarchaeota;
(2) autotrophic carbon dioxide fixation pathways in the extremely thermophylic bacterium Ammonifex degensii;
(3) the functions of citrate lyase beta subunit-like proteins in diverse bacteria and archaea;
(4) acetate assimilation pathways in halobacteria.
